The core drilling rig is composed of basic parts such as a rotary mechanism, a feeding mechanism, a lifting mechanism, a transmission mechanism, a control device and a machine base. Depending on the type of drilling rig, some core drilling rigs may also be equipped with control measuring instruments or other ancillary devices.
The rotary mechanism of the drilling rig is called a gyrator, which is used to drive the drilling tool to rotate so that the drill bit can continuously break rocks. There are three types of rotors for core drilling rigs: vertical shaft type, turntable type and mobile type. This is where the classification of core drilling rigs comes from.
The lifting mechanism is used to lift drilling tools, casing or other things. Most drilling rigs are specially equipped with a lifting mechanism, generally called a "lift", while some drilling rigs are not equipped with a lifting mechanism. For example, in mobile gyrator drilling rigs, the power head and the feed mechanism are used to realize the function of the lift.
The feeding mechanism is used to adjust and maintain the axial load on the drill bit at the bottom of the hole, and to feed the drilling tool according to the drilling speed of the drill bit to keep the drill bit drilling continuously.
The transmission mechanism is used to transmit power from the power machine of the drilling rig to the various working mechanisms of the drilling rig. There are three types of drilling rig power transmission: organic transmission, semi-hydraulic transmission, and full hydraulic transmission.
The control device is used to distribute power, adjust the movement speed of each working mechanism of the drilling rig, and change the movement direction and form of the working mechanism. The control mechanisms of mechanical transmission drilling rigs are generally set together with related components, while the control mechanisms of hydraulic transmission drilling rigs are mostly set together to become independent components, called control consoles.
