Casing Shoes:
Casing is a cylindrical metal pipe that is inserted into a drilled borehole to stabilize the hole and prevent it from collapsing.
Casing shoes are specialized attachments at the bottom end of casing strings. They are designed to facilitate the insertion of the casing into the ground by cutting through rock formations or other subsurface materials.
Casing shoes often have cutting structures, such as tungsten carbide inserts or diamond impregnations, to enhance their drilling capabilities and durability.
The primary function of casing shoes is to allow the casing to advance smoothly through challenging geological formations during the drilling process.
Main functions of casing shoe:
1): protect casing ends from distortion.
2): help casing pass through stratum to bed rock.
3): carry mud to earth surface.
4): help down-pass of casing when drill rod is in hole
